Tim Guzi, Ph.D., is MOMA’s senior vice president and head of drug discovery. He joined MOMA in 2020 and is responsible for building and leading MOMA’s drug discovery efforts, including protein sciences, structural biology, biochemistry/biophysics, medicinal chemistry, chemical biology DMPK, drug discovery, building and leading teams, and company building from launch to drug approval
Tim has 25 years of industry experience, and prior to joining MOMA, served seven years as senior vice president of chemistry at Blueprint Medicines. There, he built and led the drug discovery efforts which generated multiple development candidates, several INDs and two registered drugs. Prior to Blueprint, Tim was executive director of exploratory chemistry at Merck. Tim has brought two drugs to U.S. and global markets: Avakit (avapritinib) and Gavreto (pralsetinib).
Tim holds a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the University of Virginia and a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from St. Lawrence University.
